    Second Lieutenant Alex Mackey

For exceptional leadership of his platoon during Operation Skybreak. Lieutenant Mackey was ordered to split his platoon into two elements on the outskirts of the town of Everon in preparation for an assault. Once the platoon was split, the northern element came under severe, debilitating fire and became largely cut off from the remainder of the rest of the platoon. At the same time, the southern element was taking moderate contact and also had enemy armor advancing directly onto their position. With both elements unable to directly support one another, Lieutenant Mackey stayed with the southern element, personally engaging with enemy forces while also commanding not only the squads in his immediate vicinity, but also coordinating danger close CAS missions, as well as continuing to lead and direct, via radio, the northern element who was in danger of being overrun. Both elements had sustained multiple wounded and KIA and were individually in danger of being rendered combat ineffective. His ability to multitask was integral to the success of this phase of the operation. Had he have been unable to coordinate so many facets of the assault, it is likely that the overall offensive would have stalled and failed. His leadership and command under fire set the example for all officers and bring great credit to himself and the Regiment as a whole.

    Staff Sergeant Tyler Geki

For exceptional leadership of his squad while under overwhelming fire from a larger enemy force during Operation Skybreak. Staff Sergeant Geki was the commander of Misfit-2, who was ordered to move to secure a forward hill ahead of the rest of the platoon. Upon doing so, his squad came under withering fire from the front by an enemy platoon of infantry. While engaging those contacts, the enemy maneuvered additional forces around both flanks as well as the rear of their position, cutting Misfit-2 off from direct support. Despite a long engagement of over 20 minutes, with more than half of his squad being either critically wounded or killed in action and running dangerously low on ammunition, Staff Sergeant Geki continued to lead his forces and eventually repel the attack. His leadership and tactical decision making set the example for all NCOs and bring great credit to himself and the Regiment as a whole.

    Specialist Matthew Boyd
For an extraordinary act of valor while under direct enemy fire while serving as a Medic in the 7th Cavalry Regiment during combat operations near Everon, Sahrani on 23FEB20. This Medic successfully broke contact with the help from the only remaining conscious soldier of MISFIT-2 to save not only his own life but the lives of SGT.Gibbs and PVT.Hilton. Sergeant Kyle Gibbs
For an extraordinary act of valor while under direct enemy fire while serving as a Fireteam Leader in the 7th Cavalry Regiment during combat operations near Everon, Sahrani on 23FEB20. During a failed assault on an SBF position north of Objective 1 Sergeant Gibbs distinguished himself by defending, alone, the only remaining Medic attached to his Section. After single handedly defending against the initial attack Sergeant Gibbs, being the only conscious soldier of MISFIT-2, threw the only remaining unconscious trooper over his shoulder and broke contact with the medic over 200m away all whilst under constant fire and wounded. Sergeant Gibbs then cleared the fallback point and CCP where he killed a fireteam garrisoning, taking more hits in the process and losing consciousness within close proximity of the medic who was able to revive them both. Sergeant Gibbs' personal bravery and devotion to duty were critical to the success of the mission and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Upon reaching the location, Misfit-2 was met face to face, ahead of friendly lines and without support, with a company of enemy infantry looking to flank and counter-attack the rest of the platoon. Misfit-2 fought valiantly while being cut off in order to buy time for the platoon to push into more defendable positions at the cost of several trooper's lives within the squad.
