COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: CHAOS-1
Element Leader: Corporal Kastor.K

Pros
  • Generally had fun, nice to do something different
  • Good mission concept, unusual deployment and AO
  • Love playing defensive missions that still allow us to give ground or counter, instead of having us stuck in one Alamo all day long
  • Good effects on targets from EAGLE Flight
  • Utilized 9-lines and kill zones / pilot authority despite radio issues
  • Great initiative from Zeus to utilize a 5-gun off-shore artillery battery instead of CAS while the other Zeus was sorting comms out for EAGLE Flight, absolutely loved being FO and doing Call For Fire again
  • Terrain (huge ass cranes with ladders and staircases) permitted me elevation and thus direct eyes on many of the targets
Cons
  • Fraaaaaaames (too many pre-placed smoke stacks that Zeus was unable to remove during the game)
  • Comms issues (both bugs and weird range/terrain attenuation, which could have been helped by radio towers - why were they not used?)
  • Non-standard loadouts are fine for cosmetics, but if specialists like FAC are missing mission-critical gear without previous heads-up, it's a problem (I had a laser designator but no Vector, had a MicroDagr, but the wrong one that doesn't work with a Vector, as well as no S7 Android).
  • 7Cav compositions were not used, resulting in issues and frustrations for CHAOS and EAGLE Flight
  • Pacing at the very end, we got pushed from the East, but then ENDEX happened as I was in the middle of a 9-line, with still active targets

CPL.Eugene.R

Pros:

  • Platoon Comms were decent could be improved.
  • Lovely map and environment/era good change of pace.
  • Buddy aid was amazing tonight, big improvement from previous ops.
  • Mission was well designed and fun.
  • Lot of medical for Atlas teams.
  • Lot of contact for the platoon.
Cons:
  • FPS was rough at beginning avg 9 frames but steady at 20-30 and later 40-50+ as we left the ship.
  • Squads not providing grids when we don't have CTAB difficult to coordinate Atlas to positions without vital information.
  • Medical permissions were missing for both Atlas teams and Gunslinger-7.

Staff Sergeant Turn.J
Pros:

  • Good teamwork during medical
  • The CLS care/trooper aid was fantastic
  • The time setting and the limitations on equipment is really cool in my opinion

Cons:

  • The loadouts given to us were not properly optimized, takes awhile for medical personnel to remember and fix their kits.
  • The framerate was definitely a factor during the first half hour to 45 minutes into the Op
  • Had issues getting 6-lines from -7 due to the technological limitations

Pros:
  • Good operation. Nice change of pace with older kits.
  • A lot of contact, a lot of shooting.
  • Platoon comms were good.
  • Initial assault was very well executed, looked very cool bouncing between the cargo containers.
  • Good use of signaling equipment.
    • Due to the lack of Squad Radios we had to resort to the next step of the PACE Plan. Worked beautifully.
  • We had some excellent Charges upon enemy positions under cover of Naval Gun batteries.
Cons:
  • Frames tanked pretty bad.
  • Both platoon spacing and squad spacing were pretty bad.
  • Resupplies handled were rushed, we need to give time for the squads to buddy up
    • Increases Spacing
    • Platoon maintains security

Pros
  • Generally had fun, nice to do something different
  • Good mission concept, unusual deployment and AO
  • Love playing defensive missions that still allow us to give ground or counter, instead of having us stuck in one Alamo all day long
  • Good comms with Gun 1 and Gun 2
Cons
  • Comms issues (mostly with aviation due to a side radio issue)
  • Non-standard loadouts are fine for cosmetics,
  • No Cav compositions were used
  • Last 30 minutes were poor, (squads wanted to endex prior to falling back and defending
  • Squads would have like a ammo crate instead of an Arsenal for the resupply
