Pros
  • internal comms were good
  • people had fun, op enjoyable
  • we liked playing with Russian stuff, even with its limitations
  • troopers were really responsive
  • good amount of aggression
Cons
  • spacing during movement and stops needed adjustment
  • crossing of line of fire was not called and resulted in blue on blue
  • PID issues at one point, blue on blue
  • got HE rocket strafed by friendly air asset after marking a target bunker 400+ meters away from ours, resulted in mass cass and 1 KIA
  • same air asset strafed a building we were just told to preserve
  • poor driver visibility out of the BTR
  • troopers and vehicle had problems staying in line formation during assault
  • ATLAS had no resupply for 40mm at all (VOGs, smoke, anything), neither they had smoke hand grenades, so we're run during the last assault

Pros:
-squad enjoyed the mission and our movements
-communications with 1st squad were solid
-we as a platoon attempted to be more cohesive as a unit
-we used our BTR effectively within the squad
-building shoots at us, we counter with ALL THE EXPLOSIVES

Cons:
-their were various incidents of blu on blu (red on red?)
-due to one of the radio messages being too long I was unable to call for a cease fire
-we did not effectively communicate with 3rd as we did with 1st, infact we nearly forgot about them and failed to coordinate fires with them
-my squad failed to perform chain of command ( as a result of next point)
-I had fire team leaders rage quit because of friendly fire, this is unacceptable for a leadership position
-too much friendly fire
-friendly fire
-PID your targets

SL Remarks:
-brevity on the radios are needed
-plan for resupply and medical after points of expected contact (aka RP)
-PID the targets, there should be no excuse for FF when the map says my squads location
-dont be afriad to expend the rounds if you have it. As a good man once said "I know where theres more".

Pros:
  • Good performance from squad, heavy enemy contact taken and still remained effective.
  • Leadership allowed for clear communication and movement orders to be given.
  • Very much a 'narrow corridor' of battle. An interesting premise and one that was known to be challenging before moving in. Enemy killzones and ambush areas.
  • Despite chaotic feel and terrain working in favour of the enemy, still achieved objectives and secured hostages.
  • Squad was well executed in assaulting, clearing and convoying across large AO.
  • Good movement through various taskings and ambush zones.
  • Identifying targets set good practice for thinking before firing.
  • All members had fun and enjoyed premise of mission. They appreciated the old style feel and period setting.
  • Blue smoke was an effective way of marking locations and allowed easy identification.
  • Watching the numerous air assets at work was entertaining and created a real feel of all assets working in tangent.
  • Good communication with other assets and squads. Worked on line well when clearing areas.
  • Mosque clearing was well executed and was excellent to watch.
  • Introduced newer members to tactics and acronyms within operations. Also showcased how the overall setup is executed.
  • All members loved the premise of a Russian convoy. The ability to sit on the vehicles and become well oriented with how they work.
Cons:
  • Blu on Blu. As learnt from last week think before you fire. No harm in double checking if you are beyond close combat range or if the enemy are not engaging you. For future period missions, perhaps the ROE could be to only shoot when fired upon.
  • Friendly fire incident slowed down our advance.
  • A set precedence for uniforms or headgear to alleviate the pressure of PID.
  • Atlas medical units were not up to their best. Leaving casualties behind and overall not having the professional attitude when attending or triage.
  • Enemy 40mm heavily effective and accurate.
  • Disconnect for respawn required.
The overall mission was again fun from start to finish. Visiting different AOs is something that is clean and refreshing. Bring on the Vietnam DLC content.
