Pros:
  • Loved the chaos that is the Normandy beach, Rapid fall of CoC and just a need to survive and push to safety

Cons:

  • Slot reservation needs to be redefined, usually signing up for a roll in a squad as minor as a Rifleman was honored and the trooper was given the slot. this was clearly appearant back in 2019 and prior when we had large operations. If it is a public op then you should reserve a few slots out of all the squads for public players (and if they dont show up 5 min prior then fill it with cav members).
  • Sever start was poorly handled, as leaders we had a lack of tact when it came to telling players we had to down scale and thus cut from 100+ to 80 players. Because of our words we probably lost 30 dudes who just wanted to play in a cool op. secondly this was a public op, we shouldnt kick public players for a public op. IMO we should have asked for volunteers in which we had to leave then go on to follow SOP on kicking players such as those who didnt sign up. However the way in which we handled this op, and yesterdays op regarding the troopers who signed up vs personnel present; I had old and new troopers come to me about thoughts of discharge. if our own troopers, including leaders, dont like how it was handled than the public players certainly don't like being treated as an after thought or throw-away player.
SL Remark:
If the server cannot run the op, either find a way to run a better version, run a second game of the same file, or together we can all suffer the same lagg and dysnc as a unit and know we suffered terrible dysnc as a group of 100 dudes

Pros:
  • Lots of people showed up super excited for it.
  • Great concept and I'm grateful for all the work that went into building it.

Cons:
  • Sign up versus slotting needs some work. Troopers that take the time to actually sign up losing to troopers that couldn't be bothered to sign up should lose the chance to play if it isn't leadership positions or specific MOS

Pros:
  • Good Operational attendance
  • Good cohesion within squad
  • Fun concept to honor the history of D-Day

Cons:
  • Slotting was a nightmare and trying to get in was almost impossible as a Team leader. We need to really be handling OP attendance on the OPORD. Make it where if a SL wants his guys to attend an op as their SP, have them sign the Operational Post so we can get an accurate number readout as well as reserve those slots for those with the correct MOS and work our way down.
  • Loading in and getting slotted was a nightmare. Priority should have been this: Leadership elements slot in first, then have other members fill vacancies. Trying to get in as a leader when the server was full was very frustrating.
  • Framerate was poor and the server killed itself after we took the beach. Cancelling the mission in my opinion was a terrible idea. A lot of troopers became frustrated at wasting an hour or more of their time for something that only took maybe 30 mins or more.
