  • Overall a fun op with lots of contact
  • Target rich environment
Cons:
  • Initial assault was a dumpster fire due to platoon leader-level planning.
  • Comms could have been better.
  • Too much contact at times (overwhelming)

Pros:

  • Guys liked using different weapons/equipment (e.g. OPFOR) as it was great change of pace.
  • Despite the sometimes overwhelming conditions, BANDIT-1 persevered and even knocked out a tank.
  • Chaos can be fun, but usually only when it's expected from the get-go (e.g. defense OP against overwhelming enemies). Many of the issues that occurred as discussed in the AAR could have been avoided, however, most of BANDIT-1 still had fun and made the best of the situation.

Cons:

  • Abysmal attendance (<25 people)
  • Organization / planning was lacking; overall mission/objectives were not clear.
  • Contact felt very heavy for the amount of people we had.
  • On initial convoy movement, orders were to push through contact and the lead vehicle stopped and attempted to turn around upon first contact, causing disruption to the convoy.
Overall, the experience was dampened by a number of issues including a lack of proper planning, very low attendance, more OPFOR than we were equipped to handle, and a failure to adapt to attendance. Although attendance numbers are out of our control, many of the issues could have been avoided but instead unfortunately all came together to bring down the experience of what could have been a much more fun operation.

Pros:

  • It was a cool concept and people loved the mission idea
  • We got to do a whole lot of medical
  • We was always busy

Cons:

  • Atlas felt like a after thought
  • Atlas was shoved in a ural whilst a better alternative was available for us to take
  • Op wasn't scaled for numbers
  • Atlas wasn't provided the equipment that we was meant to have which was mentioned in the briefing
  • Fracture settings was change which stopped us from being able to have some more practice
  • Atlas was limited on what we could bring as we didn't have enough storage in our backpacks
Overall, we did have fun during the op and we did get a lot of practice in with dealing with a few mas cas situations however I feel that atlas was hindered and that it was made too hard for our numbers.
