DESCRIPTION:Location: Guam\, Mariana Islands

T-20
USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) had recently completed a joint exercise involving U.S. Air Force units and regional coalition partners.
Shortly afterward\, intelligence reported that the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN)\, which had been conducting a similar exercise\, abruptly terminated its training operations and began advancing east toward the Mariana Islands.

Andersen Air Force Base was placed on heightened alert. F-15 and F-16 aircraft began scrambling to secure Guam's airspace\, while F/A-18C flights established defensive patrols around CVN-71 and its supporting vessels.

Repeated attempts to contact the commanding vessels of the PLAN formation received no response. Poor weather and limited visibility also hindered coalition efforts to identify the fleet's composition and intentions.

During reconnaissance operations\, F/A-18C crews observed supposedly neutral civilian and merchant vessels maneuvering in ways that obscured the movement of the PLAN fleet.

These vessels may be operating as part of China's maritime militia or "shadow fleet." However\, because their affiliation cannot yet be confirmed\, coalition forces are not authorized to engage them unless they demonstrate hostile intent or commit a hostile act.

As weather conditions improve\, coalition intelligence assets are providing a continuous stream of information regarding the composition and disposition of the PLAN fleet. The fleet's intentions remain unknown. However\, all coalition aircrews have been ordered to prepare for immediate tasking and await further instructions.
