The Russian invasion of Finland did not go as planned. After a series of lengthy battles with NATO forces and the 7th Cavalry Regiment\, Russian troops were forced to retreat to Kandalaksja their side of the border\, failing to achieve a critical access-point to the Baltic Sea. NATO\, having successfully repelled Russian forces\, is assuming a defensive posture in the Koillismaa region while considering the next move.

Russian enablers have been able to destabilize the region while withdrawing. Multiple pockets of unrest have been formed in the region\, threatening the local populace and conducting attacks along the main supply route to the front line. The particular hotspot is the hamlet of Pauhu.

7th Cavalry has been assigned the AO of Kuusamo\, Ruha and ordered to maintain control of MSR E63 running north-south through the region. Bravo Troop will deploy IVO Metsala\, at the newly commissioned FARP MAC.
