[B]Briefing[/B]
For years\, tensions have simmered between Syria and Lebanon\, over differences in politics\, and natural resource allocation. As the world transitions away from Oil\, the lithium deposits have become increasingly attractive to Syria.

Last week\, additional deposits were discovered in Lebanon\, in addition to several rare mineral deposits. Hearing this Syria immediately began an offensive into Syria to gain control over all mineral deposits in the area. They have taken control over two major airfields\, and have taken control of northern Lebanon. To further destabilize the region\, Egypt and Iran have suddenly lent Syria aid in the form of several billion dollars in weaponry\, vehicles\, and fighter planes.

In response\, NATO has deployed all available units currently deployed in Israel\, in a ploy to repel the coalition forces.

The initial operation failed. With Iranian Forces inflicting heavy losses to the combined NATO Air Force. After re-organizing\, NATO has opted for a different approach. Headquarters has determined that a decisive blow must be struck against the Syrian Coalition. And all available forces will be brought to bear to accomplish that.
Additional pilots and air frames from neighboring countries have joined the fight. However\, several analysts have highlighted the fact that Turkey has not provided any aid despite the events happening in it's backyard.

With Operation Fallen Asteroid\, the AO Commander\, aims to significantly weaken the SAM Threat in the area\, allowing for a dedicated CAS Flight to move in and secure significant points of interest in the AO\, namely Rayak Airfield and Damascus Airfield.
