Corporal Michael Connelly
While serving under Bandit 1 during Operation Twilight Angel, Corporal Michael Connelly displayed acts of skill and heroism that went above and beyond the call of duty. Upon being the last non-ambulatory member of the Alpha Fireteam, CPL. Connelly conducted first responder treatment and was crucial in the recovery of both the Bandit-1 leadership element, and ensuring the continuity of the squad during a one-life operation; despite the critical nature of his own wounds. Continuing to perform throughout the operation with an injured leg, CPL. Connelly continued to move with his recovered squad and was critical for ensuring Bandit-1's mission success by laying down consistently accurate 40mm and suppressive fire, continuing to engage targets while sustaining injuries himself. Ultimately, when the squad experienced a second mass-casualty situation, Corporal Connelly successfully recovered his squad mates and provided cover for inbound medical elements. Corporal Connelly, throughout the operation, displayed intrepidity, skill and critical actions that are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon itself and the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Second Lieutenant Alex Mackey

For exceptional leadership of his platoon during Operation Skybreak. Lieutenant Mackey was ordered to split his platoon into two elements on the outskirts of the town of Everon in preparation for an assault. Once the platoon was split, the northern element came under severe, debilitating fire and became largely cut off from the remainder of the rest of the platoon. At the same time, the southern element was taking moderate contact and also had enemy armor advancing directly onto their position. With both elements unable to directly support one another, Lieutenant Mackey stayed with the southern element, personally engaging with enemy forces while also commanding not only the squads in his immediate vicinity, but also coordinating danger close CAS missions, as well as continuing to lead and direct, via radio, the northern element who was in danger of being overrun. Both elements had sustained multiple wounded and KIA and were individually in danger of being rendered combat ineffective. His ability to multitask was integral to the success of this phase of the operation. Had he have been unable to coordinate so many facets of the assault, it is likely that the overall offensive would have stalled and failed. His leadership and command under fire set the example for all officers and bring great credit to himself and the Regiment as a whole.

Sergeant Bryan Borenstein

For heroism in action under direct enemy fire while serving as an infantryman in the 7th Cavalry Regiment during combat operations in Stratis on the 15th of February. Lancer-2 had taken up a defensive position to hold off an oncoming counterattack. After numerous engagements with mechanized infantry a V-44 Blackfish loaded with paratroopers flew over the objective. Numerous M2 fire and small arms did hardly any damage to it. Sergeant Borenstein took it upon himself to collect a MAAWS and fire it at the Helo. With a direct hit with what would be considered an impossible shot took down the bird and all its crew. Thus saving the entire friendly element from being overwhelmed.
